Task 1: Your task is to research properties of water, particularly Surface Tension and Viscosity. You will have to formulate a hypothesis as to what effect dish soap will have on these properties of water. Prior to this research you will have identified the subject, Independent Variable and dependent variable in the following questions 1. What is the effect of liquid soap on the surface tension of water? Prep: Complete the pre-lab questions below in your notebook prior to the lab on Thursday: Prelab: Read the lab procedure and answer the following questions: 1. In this experiment, what is your control? 2. What is the independent variable in Part B? 3. What is the independent variable in Part C? 4. What is the dependent variable in all three parts? Write a proper title for this investigation: Write a proper hypothesis for this investigation: Task 2: I will have a beaker with BB's in it for you to observe. Your challenge is to make a scientific and calculated guess as to how many BB's are in the beaker. You will need to research this carefully with a focus on circumference, volume, and estimating. Make an educated guess and test it! I will have all the tools necessary for your team to use. Good Luck!

Check out this Link for more info and to register. While in the Library you will research the composition and physical properties of air in order to develop a testable hypothesis pertaining to our question.
Below are links to websites that will give you valid information. Please take notes in the section of your journal called research section. Air's compostion Air's density Which is heavier? Once you've completed your research please continue viewing the Power Point and completing your Journal Entry #1. Please complete up to and including the Experiment section. This is to be completed in your journal by Thursday(9/11) |
